Job summary

WAHVE LLC is seeking a Commercial Underwriter – Agriculture & Farm to join our remote, long-term team. You will evaluate and underwrite farm and agricultural insurance risks, review applications, and liaise with independent agents to price coverage.

Candidates should have 25 years of full-time experience and the 10 most recent years in Commercial Lines Property & Casualty underwriting for Farm & Agricultural business. We offer a flexible full or part-time schedule and benefits.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience.
• 10 most recent years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance experience focusing on Farm & Agricultural underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite farm and agricultural insurance risks, including property, liability, commercial auto, and farm operations exposures.
• Review applications, inspection reports, loss histories, and financial information to determine eligibility and pricing.
• Apply underwriting guidelines to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage, terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent agents and brokers.
• Provide underwriting guidance and support to agents regarding farm risks and coverage solutions.
• Monitor portfolio performance and make recommendations to maintain profitability.
• Collaborate with loss control, claims, and product teams to improve underwriting outcomes.
• Stay informed on industry trends, agricultural practices and regulatory requirements.
