Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Lead Release Train Engineer to guide ART execution within our SDLC, coordinating planning, risk management, and delivery across multiple Agile teams. This remote US-based role emphasizes Agile at scale, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering leaders.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in technical program management, 2+ years in ART environments, and SAFe certification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in technical program management, Agile delivery leadership, SDLC operations, release management, Scrum Master leadership, or scaled Agile execution.
2+ years operating in or directly supporting an ART-level environment preferred.
ART complexity management: apply Agile at Scale concepts to manage aligned features and delivery across an ART.
Continuous Improvement champion: agile servant-leader mindset and coaching for ART-level roles.
SAFe certification or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

ART Planning & Execution: Facilitate PI Planning readiness and related ART ceremonies for one Agile Release Train.
Cross-Team Coordination: Align features, slot stories, visualize dependencies, and ensure alignment to a credible PI plan.
Risk, Dependency & Impediment Management: Identify, track, and elevate ART-level risks and blockers.
Metrics, Flow & Reporting: Own ART-level metrics and reporting, including flow, velocity, and delivery health.
Release Readiness & Coordination: Coordinate ART release readiness and release-on-demand activities.
Relentless Improvement: Lead retrospectives and Inspect & Adapt events to capture and implement improvements.
