Job summary

DigitalOcean is hiring an Agentic AI Applied Scientist to design, build, and deploy autonomous agent architectures on our AI infrastructure. You will embed with high-growth startups, tech innovators, and enterprise partners to turn real-world needs into production-ready workflows.

You’ll prototype advanced agentic systems, strengthen memory, and collaborate with Product and Research teams to scale AI across the platform. Occasional travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in Applied AI, ML, or Data Science.
• Expertise in multi-agent frameworks and tool-use pipelines.
• Strong production Python skills (Pydantic, FastAPI, Asyncio, PyTorch).
• Excellent communication and ability to present AI trade-offs to leadership.
• Bias for action with customer-obsessed mindset.

Responsibilities

• Architect production-ready agentic frameworks and autonomous loops.
• Directly engage with customers (CTOs/AI leads) to translate needs.
• Prototype and harden agentic frameworks for enterprise-scale memory.
• Develop reusable evals and safety guardrails for reliability and cost.
• Bridge customer feedback to AI product and research teams.
• Travel up to 30% for customer engagements and workshops.
