Job summary

CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange is seeking an Admissions Advisor to support the Institutional Relations team. You will be the first contact for students applying to CIEE’s university study and internship programs, advising on options and the application process from a remote base in Columbia, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
• Experience in student advising, customer service, higher education, or a sales-oriented field.
• Study abroad experience strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups and one-on-one.
• Ability to work independently and remotely as part of a team.
• Fluency in day-to-day computer use including Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to use technology to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as admissions expert, advising students on appropriate CIEE programs based on academic interests, goals, and eligibility.
• Provide hands-on guidance to students as they begin, complete, and submit their CIEE applications; offer individualized support.
• Manage a high volume of communication (emails and calls) and respond to inquiries within one working day.
• Schedule prompt follow-up with prospective students to provide support and determine level of commitment.
• Organise and host information sessions, webinars, tabling events, and classroom presentations to raise awareness about CIEE programs.
• Support recruitment, training, and supervision of CIEE Student Ambassadors on campus.
• Work with Institutional Relations Managers to ensure alignment with partner institution goals.
• Achieve personal and team qualitative and quantitative targets (completed applications and conversion) set by leadership.
• Document call information and input data into Salesforce to ensure seamless communication and progress tracking.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay current on CIEE program offerings, policies, and tools.
