Job summary

Clover is seeking an Actuarial Analyst for a rotational program designed to expose you to multiple actuarial disciplines within Medicare Advantage. You’ll work on forecasting, reserving, pricing, risk adjustment, and value-based care projects, building models with large healthcare datasets and presenting insights to leadership.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in healthcare analytics, completed SOA exams, and strong SQL/Excel skills; Python/R experience and BI familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in healthcare finance, analytics, actuarial, consulting, strategy, operations, or related field.
• Successful completion of one or more Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams required.
• Experience in Medicare Advantage, managed care, or value-based healthcare preferred.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with large datasets.
• Proficient in SQL and Excel; knowledge of Python, R, AI tools, GitHub and BI platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative analyses supporting actuarial functions: forecasting, medical cost analysis, revenue optimization, reserving, pricing, risk adjustment.
• Develop and maintain analytical models using actuarial principles and large datasets.
• Partner with actuaries and cross-functional leaders to analyze performance and develop data-driven recommendations.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive presentations communicating findings for planning and monitoring.
• Support financial planning by analyzing medical costs, revenue drivers, and risk adjustment metrics.
• Identify opportunities to automate analyses using SQL, Excel, Python, and AI tools.
• Participate in rotational assignments across actuarial disciplines to build broad knowledge and technical expertise.
