Job summary

Nelson-Jameson, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Generalist to own a portfolio of customer accounts, handle billing inquiries, and ensure timely collections. You will work with the commercial development and accounting teams to optimize cash flow and assess credit terms to mitigate risk.

You will maintain accurate ledgers, resolve payment discrepancies, and keep customer records up-to-date in the ERP system, all while delivering reliable service to clients.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or general accounting.
• Practical background in credit, collections, and account reconciliation.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts by outreach on past-due balances.
• Process and apply customer remittances timely and accurately in the ERP system.
• Assess customer creditworthiness and monitor credit limits; adjust payment terms as needed.
• Review and clear customer orders on credit hold efficiently.
• Respond to billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Update and maintain accurate customer account records in the ERP system.
