Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor invoices, expenses, and payments for a nationwide, remote-enabled role. You will work under the Controller to ensure strong financial controls and accurate project costing across engineering, construction, and professional services environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Deltek experience (Vantagepoint or Vision) and a minimum of three years in accounts payable, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or Deltek Vision accounting software is required
• At least three years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
• Experience with purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, project cost coding, and approval workflows
• Familiarity with Form 1099 reporting and vendor compliance requirements
• Experience supporting multiple projects, departments, or legal entities

Responsibilities

• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices in Deltek
• Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving docs
• Verify GL accounts, project numbers, phases, and cost codes
• Route invoices through approvals and follow up on delays
• Process employee expense reports and confirm policy compliance
• Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires)
• Maintain vendor records and 1099 documentation
• Reconcile AP subledger to GL
• Assist with year-end 1099 reporting
• Support audits and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate costs
