Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit seeks an Accounting Manager to lead key near-term close processes, revenue and COGS recognition, and internal controls across Digital Pharmacies. You will manage a team of direct reports and partner with leaders to drive accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or equivalent field.
5+ years of financial analysis and solid analytic experience.
Experience managing multiple requests under deadlines.
GAAP knowledge; ability to collaborate with varied levels.
Proven proficiency with Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage monthly pre-close and close processes, revenue/COGS recognition, and inventory costing.
Provide leadership and development for a team of direct reports.
Develop and maintain processes for timely financial data analysis and best practices.
Maintain internal control structure, risk assessment and reporting procedures.
Resolve high-level financial reporting issues.
Assist in monthly review of financial results and provide guidance.
Perform monthly P&L variance analysis and commentary.
Prepare journal entries; revenue/expense accruals and activity.
