Job summary

Avalon Healthcare Solutions is seeking an Accounting Coordinator Intern in Tampa, FL. The role provides administrative and accounting support to the Corporate Accounting Department, working about 15-20 hours per week, ideal for a college student pursuing an Accounting degree.

The position offers remote work flexibility, with quarterly travel to Avalon's Tampa office. Reports to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, and supports AP processes, data entry, expense reporting, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Analytical skills with ability to organize and analyze accounting data.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Enter invoices accurately into accounting systems.
• Track supporting documentation, data, and required approvals for invoice processing.
• Respond to Accounts Payable inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with employee expense reporting and related documentation.
• Process provider check payments on a weekly basis.
• Prepare minor account reconciliations and research outstanding items as needed.
• Assist with audit, tax, and other financial reporting requests by gathering supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized accounting records and files per procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to support daily accounting operations and other projects.
