Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a finance support specialist to maintain and process a variety of accounting transactions, including time and attendance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement. You will interpret policy and assist with routine financial reporting and document management.

The role involves data entry in Cardinal and IMS, working with internal staff to resolve discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with retention guidelines.

Formación

• Ability to accurately perform data entry into computerized financial systems.
• Experience interpreting and applying basic policy, procedures and changes.
• Experience performing data entry into automated financial systems.
• Experience preparing financial reports and running queries.

Responsabilidades

• Accounts Payable: process invoices, verify charges, and reconcile to Cardinal receiver.
• Accounts Receivable: perform data entry and ensure supervisory approvals.
• Administrative Duties: support office tasks, mail sorting, and receptionist duties as needed.
• Financial Data: run queries, compare expenditures, and correct discrepancies.
• Inventory Data Processing: entry of receipts/issues into IMS and Cardinal; maintain counts.
• SPCC Direct Charge and Procurement: prepare requisitions, card charges, and financial reports.
• Time and Attendance: enter hours, leave, and equipment rental; ensure approvals.
• Travel: process travel authorizations and reimbursements; ensure approvals.
