Job summary

C.A. Fortune is seeking an experienced Account Manager to manage and grow key conventional grocery retail accounts throughout Northern California.

The role emphasizes building retailer relationships, expanding distribution, and leading promotional planning with retailers such as Nugget Markets. The successful candidate will understand the Northern California grocery landscape, distribution channels, category reviews, and new item presentations, and will work remotely within the

Qualifications

• Prior account management or sales experience within the CPG, grocery, food, or beverage industry.
• Direct work with retailers such as Nugget Markets or comparable Northern California grocers.
• Understanding of grocery distribution, distributors, UNFI and C&S preferred.
• Experience with category reviews, promotions, and retailer negotiations.
• Ability to translate sales data into actionable selling stories.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with buyers, category managers, and retailer contacts.
• Manage the full retailer sales cycle: new item presentations, category reviews, promotions, pricing, and account management.
• Develop retailer-specific sales strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Analyze sales and category data to identify opportunities for increased shelf presence and distribution.
• Coordinate with distributors and internal teams to ensure timely execution of items and programs.
• Maintain accurate account information, meetings, and follow-ups in company systems.
• Attend retailer meetings, category reviews, and industry events as required.
