Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a part-time Academic Human Resources and Payroll Administrator to oversee student employment, payroll actions, onboarding, and compliance with university policies.

The role supports the Arts Division and collaborates with faculty and budget staff to ensure accurate pay, timely data, and secure handling of sensitive information. Remote work is available with a hybrid option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
• Experience in payroll and/or personnel processing and related administrative skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and policy interpretation abilities.
• Proficiency with Google suite, spreadsheets, and database software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of employment for student workers and graduate appointments, ensuring compliance with contracts and policies.
• Manage payroll actions, hires, rehires, separations, and time reporting with accuracy and audit readiness.
• Coordinate onboarding, data maintenance, and reporting with campus partners.
