Job summary

JCW Group is seeking a remote Business Development Officer to originate asset-based lending opportunities across a true middle-market book, working with a national underwriting team and senior credit leadership.

This generalist origination role focuses on sourcing new ABL relationships, building referral networks with banks, sponsors, CPAs and intermediaries, and structuring collateral-driven solutions secured by A/R, inventory and select equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business development experience in asset-based lending or commercial finance.
• Established referral network and proven track record of closing ABL transactions.
• Strong understanding of ABL structures, collateral analysis and borrowing base mechanics.
• Comfort presenting creative and non-traditional ABL structures. No real estate, cash flow or term lending.

Responsibilities

• Originate new asset-based lending relationships, generally up to $50MM, with capacity for larger transactions.
• Build and maintain referral networks with banks, private equity sponsors, turnaround consultants, CPAs, attorneys and other intermediaries.
• Source opportunities across consumer products and brands, light manufacturing, distribution, inventory-driven businesses and e-commerce sellers.
• Structure creative, collateral-driven solutions secured by A/R, inventory and select equipment.
• Partner closely with underwriting and credit leadership to move deals from initial review through closing.
• Identify cross-sell and split-deal opportunities with the company’s factoring and specialty lending divisions.
