Job summary

Opal Autism Centers is seeking an experienced ABA Medical Billing Specialist for a temporary 1099 contract to support a revenue cycle project. The role requires independently managing a high-volume billing workload, reducing backlog, and ensuring accurate claim submissions for ABA services.

You will review documentation, correct errors or addenda, and submit claims using CentralReach and clearinghouses, collaborating with Clinical Directors and BCBAs while adhering to HIPAA and security

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of ABA therapy billing experience.
• Experience with CentralReach billing functions.
• Strong knowledge of ABA CPT codes and payer requirements.
• Experience with Waystar or a comparable healthcare clearinghouse.
• Ability to review and interpret EOBs, remittance advice, payer communications, and claim rejections.
• Experience managing high-volume claim submission workloads.
• Strong attention to detail and billing accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Submit ABA therapy claims using CentralReach and clearinghouses.
• Backlog review and backlog reduction while meeting productivity expectations.
• Verify client demographics, authorizations, provider credentials, CPT codes, units, dates of service, and place of service.
• Identify documentation issues and obtain corrections/addenda.
• Coordinate with BCBAs and Clinical Directors for documentation.
• Review payer requirements before submission and prevent duplicates.
• Document follow-up activity and claim resolutions; communicate with leadership.
