Job summary

Opal Autism Centers seeks an experienced ABA Medical Billing Specialist for a temporary remote contractor role. The assignment lasts about three months and pays $30-$35 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 40-hour work week.

The role focuses on reducing billing backlog, accelerating claim submissions, and ensuring accuracy in ABA billing using CentralReach and a healthcare clearinghouse. You will work with Revenue Cycle and clinical teams to address denials and optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience.
• At least 2 years of ABA therapy billing experience.
• Experience with CentralReach billing functions.
• Experience using Waystar or a comparable healthcare clearinghouse.
• Pediatric healthcare billing experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with high billing accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and submit ABA therapy claims using CentralReach and clearinghouses.
• Manage billing backlog while meeting productivity benchmarks.
• Verify demographics, authorizations, CPT codes, units, dates, and POS requirements.
• Identify documentation issues preventing submission and correct errors.
• Track daily claim submissions and provide status updates to leadership.
• Resolve rejections and resubmit as appropriate.
