Job summary

Opal Autism Centers is seeking an experienced ABA Medical Billing Specialist for a temporary remote assignment lasting about three months. The role focuses on reducing billing backlog, accelerating claim submissions, and collaborating with the Revenue Cycle team.

You will review documentation, resolve submission barriers, ensure accurate coding, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records while supporting high-volume processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years medical billing experience.
• Minimum 2 years ABA therapy billing experience.
• Experience with CentralReach billing functions.
• Strong knowledge of ABA CPT codes and payer requirements.
• Experience using Waystar or comparable clearinghouse.
• Ability to review EOBs/remittance advices and handle rejections.
• Experience managing high-volume claim submissions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and meet productivity expectations.
• Secure remote work environment for handling PHI.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and submit ABA therapy claims using CentralReach and clearinghouses.
• Process billing backlog while meeting productivity expectations.
• Verify demographics, authorizations, CPT codes, units, and DO servings.
• Identify documentation issues and obtain corrections/addendums.
• Coordinate with providers to resolve submission barriers.
• Review claims for payer-specific requirements before submission.
• Prevent duplicate billing and authorization errors.
• Maintain accurate billing records and supporting docs.
• Follow HIPAA and privacy/security requirements.
• Track submission volume and backlog reduction; report progress.
