Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO), an Akima company, seeks a Cyber Security Analyst III to advance DOE IT security by conducting assessments, supporting RMF, and preparing A&A artifacts. The role blends hands-on cybersecurity with mid-level A&A duties across cloud and on-prem environments.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in cybersecurity operations, strong written communication, and the ability to obtain a DOE clearance. This remote position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or four years of equivalent work experience.
• 5–7 years of cybersecurity operations or related security functions.
• Experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST CSF.
• Ability to analyze configurations and document risks clearly.
• Ability to obtain a DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assess security and privacy controls for effectiveness and DOE alignment.
• Review control implementations for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Document findings and corrective actions in formal reports.
• Prepare A&A packages including ARW, SAP, SARs and risk assessments.
• Respond to data calls and support audits.
