Job summary

FIS in Milwaukee is seeking a reliable mail processing associate to accurately sort incoming mail, operate sorting and remittance equipment, and support daily operations on-site. The role requires a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and basic data entry with attention to detail to verify client transactions and output.

The position involves working Saturdays and Sundays 5am–1:30pm CST and commuting locally.

Qualifications

  • Data entry and keying skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of remittance processing.
  • Proficient written and oral communication with team members.
  • Knowledge of processing client transactions and producing output via computer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately sorting incoming mail according to customer and deadlines.
  • Running large mail sorting and opening equipment.
  • Prepare to be on your feet 80% of the workday.
  • Sets-ups and maintenance for the remittance processor and related equipment.
  • Performs research and adjustment activities.
  • Processes exception items.
  • Maintains inventory of remittance processing supplies.
  • Prepares outgoing collection notices for negotiable instruments.

What you will be doing
  • Accurately sorting incoming mail according to customer and deadlines
  • Running large mail sorting and opening equipment
  • Prepare to be on your feet 80% of the workday
  • Sets-up and maintenance activities for the remittance processor and related equipment
  • Performs research and adjustment activities
  • Processes exception items
  • Maintains inventory of remittance processing supplies
  • Prepares outgoing collection notices for negotiable instruments, e.g., bonds, food stamps, foreign items
  • Other related duties assigned as needed

Work Schedule: Saturday-Sunday. 5am-130pm cst. Must be local and able to commute on-site.

  • Knowledge of the practices, procedures and problem-solving techniques involved in item processing
  • Knowledge of client specifications for remittance processing
  • Knowledge of off-line and peripheral equipment operation and maintenance
  • Proficiency to assemble, organize and sequence work
  • Knowledge to identify errors in calculations and balance
