WSP currently has a Remediation Engineering Project Manager career opportunity to support our remote Applied Solutions practice, which provides project management, construction management, and project controls support for environmental engineering and construction projects.

Location: Ideally based in our Redmond, Washington or Charleston, West Virginia offices, but open to candidates anywhere in the U.S.

The full-time Remediation Engineering Project Manager will lead a team to execute environmental, sustainable, and remediation projects, primarily focusing on federal and commercial clients. The role offers exposure to various delivery models, such as EPCM, EPC, design-build, and design-bid-build.

This position is ideal for someone eager to work closely with clients and lead a talented team to meet project goals. Your Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clients to understand objectives and lead a team to meet scope, schedule, budget, and safety standards.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring project progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform field tasks, attend meetings, oversee subcontractors, and handle project documentation during planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Develop and manage project risk registers and proactively address issues from start to finish.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Monitor expenditures, forecast costs, and ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Prepare reports for clients and internal teams to track progress, safety, and quality compliance.
  • Coordinate deliverable reviews and provide technical assistance, including interpreting specifications and standards.
  • Conduct site visits (approximately 5% overnight travel) to verify project progress.
  • Review and approve contractor payments and maintain comprehensive project records.
  • Ensure proper document management according to company policies.
Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of relevant project management experience.
  • BS in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing project teams to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and project scope management.
  • Financial management skills, including tracking expenditures and forecasting.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
  • Certifications such as PE, PMP, DBIA, CCM are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel (~5% overnight).
  • Must pass background check.
