Job summary

Lesaffre's Biospringer team in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Relief Supervisor to support the Production Manager and Superintendents, oversee operators, and maintain a safety‑first, quality‑driven plant culture.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Production Management or 2–3 years of supervisory experience in food processing; forklift certification is required, and SAP duties are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Production Management preferred or 2–3 years supervisory experience in a food-processing manufacturer.
• Basic math, chemistry, and microbiology knowledge required.
• Basic knowledge of equipment and production sanitation.
• Ability to supervise multiple people and prioritize duties.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety protocols and participate in required safety programs.
• Oversee activities of Process and Drying Operators.
• Ensure control sheets are completed for each process.
• Cover open Production Supervisor shifts as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order materials for the production plant.
• Assist with SAP month-end, batching, and lot reconciliation.
• Update production schedules as needed.
• Assist with annual reviews and discipline actions.
• Approve or deny vacation requests and schedule the production team.
