Job summary

Centerpoint, operated by Justice Resource Institute, in Tewksbury, MA, seeks a Residential Counselor (Relief) to support emotionally distressed adolescent males in a 16-bed IRTP. You will help create a safe, structured environment and deliver engaging activities while upholding boundaries and safety.

The position offers an hourly wage of $19.00–$25.00, with potential overtime due to program needs. JRI provides training, benefits, and opportunities for licensure support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; High School Diploma required.
• Residential program or mental health program experience preferred; experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.
• Able to work independently while under the guidance of a supervisor.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide enriching daily activities for students such as arts and crafts, recreational activities including offsite field trips, and more.
• Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and by role modelling effective coping strategies.
• Help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by developing life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.
