Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to provide relief support across Washington hospitals, including Lynnwood and Mount Vernon. This part-time role offers the freedom to design your own work week and gain exposure to a wide range of cases and specialties.

You’ll work 3-5 shifts per week (8–12 hours each), with possible overnight availability and a focus on mentorship. Compensation is negotiable, with a rate of $38-41 per hour.

Qualifications

• LVT license is REQUIRED.
• Emergency and specialty experience in addition to general practice.
• Possible overnight availability and schedule flexibility.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work 3-5 shifts per week (8-12 hours).
• Experience with training and mentorship of staff.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
• Maintain accurate medical records with health history.
• Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, and communicates discharge instructions.
• Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthetic procedures.
• Use fear-free handling and follow safety protocols.
• Complete in-patient/out-patient diagnostics and treatments as requested.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with team members and provide support as needed.
