Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in Washington is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for relief across our Washington hospitals. This part-time role offers the freedom to design your own schedule while gaining exposure to diverse cases, teams, and specialties.

You will support veterinarians, mentor staff, maintain accurate medical records, prepare patients for discharge, and assist in anesthesia and surgery as needed. Compensation ranges from $38 to $41 per hour.

Qualifications

• LVT-Licensed Veterinary Technician-REQUIRED
• Emergency and Specialty Experience in addition to General Practice
• Possible overnight availability
• Reliable transportation
• Schedule flexibility
• Availability for 3-5 shifts per week—shifts range from 8-12 hours
• Prior experience with training and mentorship

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members
• Assist in maintaining medical records including health history
• Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, and communicates discharge instructions
• Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery
• Use fear free handling and maintain hospital safety
• Complete in-patient and out-patient diagnostics as requested
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean
• Collaborate with teammates and provide mutual support
