The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian who thrives on helping people and their pets in urgent moments. You’ll manage cases from routine emergencies to complex surgeries, with growth through VEG Education programs and on-floor mentorship.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Emergency medicine and emergency surgery experience expected.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients right away as part of VEG triage and VEG Spikes, our unique patient-centered approach.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam.
• Conduct physical examinations and required tests (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies).
• Create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan and communicate options to customers.
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers.
• Document medical records accurately.
• Perform both minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate customers on aftercare and preventative measures.
