Job summary

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Must be able to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
• Must have regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• The Cook at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, OK, prepares food in accordance with standard menus and specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations; follow recipes; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; supervise serving of meals by wait staff; direct and assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors; ensure all residents have received meals; ensure fire and safety practices and procedures are followed.
