Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hospital or similar facility preferred.
• Food handlers’ card or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with residents, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Safe Food Handling: follow guidelines for handling and storing foods; monitor temperatures and sanitation.
• Food Preparation: follow recipes and production worksheets; control portions and timing.
• General Food Service Duties: serve meals with correct plating, clean and sanitize areas, store leftovers properly.
• Shift and team duties: assist other staff, close the kitchen per policy, maintain communication with management.
