Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Relief Driver with a CDL-B to safely operate a collection truck in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. The role emphasizes prompt, courteous waste removal, safety compliance, and strict adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, route service, loading waste, and timely completion of reports while maintaining productivity and safety standards. Prior truck driving experience is preferred, with a Class B CDL and air brakes endorsement.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure safety and readiness.
• Safely operate the truck along designated routes and service customers as assigned.
• Load refuse and operate the compactor while disposing of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and colleagues daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports (VCRs).
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards and safety policies.
• Participate in the Company’s ReSOP program and perform other duties as assigned.
