Job summary

Republic Services in Statesville, NC is seeking a Relief Driver - CDL (B) to operate a collection truck and provide prompt waste removal services for customers. You will ensure the vehicle meets safety standards and complies with company, state, and federal regulations, completing daily VCRs to address any defects.

The role requires performing pre- and post-operation inspections, safely driving routes, loading refuse, and interacting with customers.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along designated routes and serve customers.
• Load refuse, operate the compactor and dispose of materials.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them as needed.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and safety issues.
• Maintain vehicle condition to minimize downtime.
• Complete route sheets, VCRs and other reports.
• Follow safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
