Job summary

Ever-Green Energy Inc in Duluth, MN is seeking an Assistant Watch Engineer – Relief. Under the Operating Watch Engineer, you will perform maintenance and operations to keep a thermal energy plant running safely.

You must hold the Minnesota First Engineer – Class 1A Boiler Operator License and have at least three years of relevant experience. Union environment with rotating shifts and responsibilities including lock-out procedures.

Qualifications

• Current State of Minnesota First Engineer – Class 1A Boiler Operator License.
• Three years’ experience operating, maintaining, or servicing high‑pressure thermal energy facilities and distribution systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machinery and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Start/stop equipment and monitor operating conditions.
• Perform plant rounds and maintain shift task logs.
• Lock-out/tag-out and safe maintenance preparation.
• Assist with equipment reenergization and start-up.
• Operate skid-steer loader for moving coal, ash, and snow.
• Communicate status to the Operating Watch Engineer.
