Job summary

Ever-Green Energy Inc. seeks a Plant Boiler Operator to act as roving watch for the Southeast and Main Energy Plants, ensuring safe and reliable operation. You will perform rounds, operate high‑pressure boilers, turbines and chillers, and coordinate maintenance with minimal supervision.

The role requires a MN Second Class Boiler Engineer’s license, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to train others. Expect rotating shifts, overtime, and a union work environment in Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a large, high pressure steam heating plant or high pressure boiler operation.
• Ability to coordinate operations and maintenance with independence.
• Clear communication, written and oral, and ability to train others.
• Familiarity with boiler/chiller equipment and maintenance work.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure boilers, turbine generators, gas turbines and chillers to provide steam, electricity and chilled water safely.
• Inspect, operate and adjust pumps, turbines and equipment for safe plant operations.
• Perform boiler and water treatment analyses and adjustments for efficiency.
• Conduct major repairs/maintenance on boilers and auxiliaries to prevent shutdowns.
• Train new Operating Engineers on policies and procedures.
• Remove fly ash and manage coal/gas/oil tank levels for plant operation.
• Maintain coal bunker levels and chemical/oil tanks; manage coal handling systems.
