Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Carmel, IN seeks a LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting students and volunteers, obeying traffic laws, keeping the bus safe and clean, performing inspections, and supporting classroom activities as agreed with the Director.

Qualifications

• Regular driver's license held for the past three years.
• CDL with passenger vehicle (P) endorsement required for 15+ passenger vehicles; 15-passenger van requires no special license.
• Age 21–80; drivers over 75 must submit additional documents annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in the last five years.
• Must pass background check through LifeWise Academy and annual Physician's Statement if medical conditions exist.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required pre-employment, annually, and after accidents.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain bus cleanliness and safety.
• Perform regular bus inspections and refuel as needed.
• Create a safe environment for children and enforce safety rules; assist with boarding.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by Director.
