Job summary

LCRA is seeking a Reliability Engineering Intern to apply classroom knowledge to real-world power utility systems in Texas. You will help monitor grid stability by analyzing equipment performance and health, leveraging engineering principles to prevent failures and outages.

You will learn from industry experts, collaborate on impactful projects, and grow your career while contributing to reliable electricity delivery across Texas.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in junior year or has completed junior year and will be starting senior year.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering background is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use Power BI and SQL to monitor transmission equipment health and identify trends.
• Investigate equipment failures and incidents to determine root causes and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize preventive schedules and extend asset life.
• Perform reliability assessments to identify network vulnerabilities and suggest mitigations.
• Work with operations, maintenance, and construction teams to align asset management strategies.
