Job summary

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) invites aspiring engineers to join our summer intern program in the Austin, TX area, focusing on power plant engineering. The role targets juniors or rising seniors with Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil backgrounds seeking hands-on experience.

Interns will perform progressively responsible tasks under licensed professional supervision, contribute to power plant projects, assist testing and diagnosis of equipment, and prepare documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in a university program, junior year or starting senior year.

Responsibilities

• Perform progressively responsible engineering assignments under supervision.
• Contribute to projects involving modifications to power plant systems.
• Assist with tests, diagnosis and evaluation of equipment performance.
• Prepare reports and project outlines following business procedures.
