Job summary

Novonesis is offering a full-time Reliability Engineering Intern role at our Blair, Nebraska facility. You will work with engineers, maintenance teams and production staff to identify and implement reliability improvements, collect data, and contribute to predictive maintenance initiatives.

You will gain hands-on experience in a world-class manufacturing environment under mentorship from experienced professionals and collaborate across engineering, maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support reliability and maintenance improvement projects across the Blair site.
  • Assist with equipment performance analysis and reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret maintenance data to support decisions.

This internship provides an opportunity to apply engineering principles in a real manufacturing environment while contributing to Novonesis' operational success.The Role & Your ImpactAs a Reliability Engineering Intern, you will support projects focused on equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, asset improvement, and data-driven problem solving. This role combines technical analysis with hands-on plant exposure, allowing you to develop practical engineering skills while contributing to meaningful business outcomes.Key responsibilities include:Support reliability and maintenance improvement projects across the Blair manufacturing site.Assist with equipment performance analysis and identification of reliability improvement opportunities.Collect, analyze, and interpret maintenance and operational data to support decision-making.Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action development.Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve asset performance and equipment uptime.Document findings, prepare reports, and present recommendations to stakeholders.What You’ll Need to Be SuccessfulRequired QualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering .Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings effectively.Strong written and verbal communication skills.What We OfferHands-on engineering experience in a world-class manufacturing environment.Exposure to reliability engineering, maintenance excellence, and operational improvement initiatives.Mentorship from experienced engineering and maintenance professionals.Opportunities to contribute to projects with measurable business impact.Cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and technical teams.Professional development and practical experience that complements academic studies.Ways of Working / Working ConditionsFull-time internship assignment lasting approximately 10 weeks.Located on-site at our Blair, Nebraska facility.Frequent interaction with production and maintenance areas.May require extended periods of walking through the facility and climbing stairs.Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated manufacturing areas.Work may include exposure to industrial noise, equipment, and varying plant conditions.CompensationExpected salary: $23/hrRelevant InformationProgram Dates: May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027Position Type: Temporary position payrolled through a third-party providerApplication Deadline: October 30, 2026Our purpose guides the wayIn Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
