Job summary

Hood Lumber, a division of Hood Industries, Inc., is seeking a Millwright for our Waynesboro, MS facility. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure reliable operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of millwright experience, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Safety and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of millwright experience.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Maintenance experience in lumber/manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety rules and policies.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain production equipment using proper tools.
• Repair/replace belts, hoses, valves, sprockets, motors, spindles, bearings, and other parts.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and reorder as needed.
• Perform metalworking (welding, cutting, fabricating) as necessary.
• Operate forklift, mobile crane, or other rolling stock occasionally.
• Communicate regularly with coworkers and management about maintenance issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Follow safety, health, and environmental policies.
