Job summary

Harrington and Nichols Stations seeks a reliability engineering intern to support operations and maintenance. You will assist with overhaul planning, capital projects, and troubleshooting power plant equipment.

You'll work with engineers across facilities, help with SAP work orders, project drawings in Projectwise, and participate in safety meetings. This is a hybrid, in-person role requiring campus commuting to the designated site.

Qualifications

Current student, Sophomore or higher (as of Fall 2027).
Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university.
Pursuing a degree in any Engineering major.
Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week).
Able to work part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week).
Able to commute to the designated work location in-person, per the hybrid work policy.
Technical writing course preferred.
Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering majors preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide reliability engineering support to power plant operations and maintenance.
Work with engineers to develop engineering skills for reliable operation.
Support overhaul planning and capital projects.
Troubleshoot power plant equipment and assist with SAP work orders.
Pull and update drawings using Projectwise software.
Attend safety meetings and collaborate with plant crews.

Job description

Provide reliability engineering support to Harrington and Nichols Stations
Work closely with engineers at each facility to develop engineering skills supporting reliable operation and maintenance of power plant equipment
Support overhaul planning
Support capital projects
Troubleshoot power plant equipment
Work with contractors onsite and offsite
Assist with SAP work order creation
Prepare paperwork such as one-pagers requesting funding for Emergent capital projects
Pull and update drawings using Projectwise software
Support Emergent Project Funding
Source and order materials
Enter new planned capital projects
Attend safety meetings
Work with plant crews
Provide unit overhaul support

Requirements

Current student, Sophomore or higher (as of Fall 2027)
