Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. You will develop reliability processes for launch vehicles, spacecraft, and supporting systems, and work with systems engineering to verify safety and reliability requirements.

You will perform FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analyses, and reliability predictions, and collaborate to identify design improvements that reduce risk and improve mission success in a challenging, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering or related field
• Experience with reliability analyses including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams
• Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners
• Ability to form relationships with experts from varying engineering fields and provide constructive feedback about safety and reliability concerns
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliability engineering processes and products for the design of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and supporting systems.
• Verify compliance with safety and reliability requirements including verification by analysis or test.
• Assess reliability allocations and trades, perform fault tree analysis, build reliability block diagrams, produce hazard analysis, and perform FMEA/FMECA.
• Identify areas of opportunity for design improvements, minimize risk, and increase the probability of mission success.
