Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Reliability Engineer Co-Op for Spring 2027 at our Bedford, MA site. This six‑month assignment focuses on improving equipment reliability, uptime, and process yield while collaborating with process engineering and maintenance to implement improvements and new procedures.

You will gain hands-on experience with safety programs, equipment FMEAs, and cross‑functional initiatives aimed at reducing costs and increasing availability and manufacturing capacity.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours/week, M-F (8a-5p) January–June
• Must meet university co-op requirements
• No sponsorship for employment visas (e.g., H1B)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with maintenance and process engineering to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
• Participate in safety programs.
• Address obsolescence risk and business continuity with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in designing new equipment to support manufacturing capacity.
• Upgrade existing equipment to improve availability and revenue per sq. ft.
• Review opportunities for improvements impacting product yield.
• Support new capabilities and facilitation activities with development and process teams.
• Assist with FMEAs and review technical documents.
• Support cost-saving initiatives related to equipment expenses.
• Assist spare parts identification.

The Role:

Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a Reliability Engineer Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. This position will be responsible for improving the reliability of equipment and parameters to improve uptime and process yield. They will work with process engineering and maintenance to improve procedures, troubleshooting, implementing process improvements, and documenting new procedures and tasks.

What You’ll Do:

• Work with maintenance team and process engineering team to drive process and product quality.
• Participate in safety programs.
• Work with teams to mitigate equipment obsolescence and business continuity risks.
• Work with teams to scope and design new equipment (coating tools, etching tools etc.) to support manufacturing capacity.
• Work with team to upgrade existing equipment to increase availability and revenue per sq. ft.
• Work with cross functional team to improve equipment availability and drive excellence.
• Review opportunities for improvement with current equipment and fixtures that could impact product yield.
• Work with development team and process team to bring new capabilities in new and support facilitation activities.
• Support equipment FMEAs.
• Review technical documents.
• Work with teams to drive cost saving efforts with equipment related expense.
• Support spare part identification.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

• Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplines.
• Graduation Spring of 2027 or Spring of 2028 preferred.

• Must be a currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
• Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co‑op program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional lifting of items less than 20 pounds.
