Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support site capital projects and operational readiness initiatives by developing equipment lifecycle documentation, maintenance strategies, asset master data, and reliability programs for new and modified manufacturing assets. This role partners with Engineering, Validation, Maintenance, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure equipment is accurately documented, maintainable, and ready for successful turnover into routine operations.

The Reliability Engineer will serve as a key contributor during project execution by supporting asset lifecycle management processes, performing maintenance and spare parts risk assessments, and ensuring project deliverables are completed in compliance with site procedures, GMP requirements, and data integrity standards.

Asset Lifecycle & Data Management
  • Acquire, analyze, and consolidate asset information from multiple engineering, project, maintenance, validation, and vendor data sources.
  • Mine data from approximately 15 project readiness sources to support equipment lifecycle documentation and operational readiness activities.
  • Create and maintain equipment and stand-alone instrument birth certificates (FORM-490).
  • Ensure asset records are accurate, complete, and aligned with site maintenance and reliability standards.
Maintenance & Reliability Strategy Development
  • Develop and complete FORM-491 documentation for equipment and instrument maintenance and calibration strategies.
  • Define preventive maintenance requirements based on equipment criticality, reliability principles, manufacturer recommendations, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to optimize long-term asset reliability and maintainability.
Asset Modification & Spare Parts Management
  • Complete FORM-492 documentation supporting equipment and instrumentation modifications.
  • Develop FORM-493 documentation and conduct spare parts risk assessments to ensure proper inventory and maintenance support strategies.
  • Evaluate equipment criticality and recommend spare parts requirements to minimize operational risk.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Review FORM-718 and FORM-719 documentation packages for accuracy, completeness, and Data Integrity (DI) compliance before approval and routing.
  • Ensure all project deliverables comply with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), cGMP requirements, and site procedures.
  • Support audits, inspections, and documentation reviews related to asset management and maintenance programs.
Project & CAPEX Support
  • Support current and future capital projects through active engagement with project teams and engineering stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of project schedules, milestones, and equipment turnover activities to ensure timely completion of reliability deliverables.
  • Partner with validation teams to remain current on commissioning, qualification, and validation activities impacting project readiness.
  • Participate in project reviews and readiness assessments to ensure effective asset handover to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, asset management, or project engineering within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting CAPEX projects and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and calibration programs.
  • Strong understanding of equipment reliability principles and risk-based maintenance strategies.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
