Objective of the Position:

Plan, coordinate and lead all activities related to software releases (core and custom), ensuring controlled, documented execution with no negative impact to the business. Lead release management from planning to Go-Live, working collaboratively with Development, QA, Delivery, DevOps, Product Team and Project Management teams. Perform as a key member of the team delivering Retail Point of Sale software.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate all activities associated with software releases: hotfixes, patches, planned releases.
  • Negotiate and validate deployment windows with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain release schedule, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business needs
  • Ensure proper integration and communication with Technology and Operations areas.
  • Identify, document and mitigate risks related to releases.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of builds together with the DevOps / Operations team.
  • Coordinate Go-Live activities including execution of deployment checklists.
  • Ensure the publication of clear and complete release notes.
  • Maintain centralized documentation of processes and policies associated with releases.
  • Continuous improvement of automation and version control processes.
  • Manage dependencies between different components or modules of a release.
  • Assist with other related areas across POS Delivery team as required

Position Requirements:

Educational Background: Professional degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.

ITIL, DevOps, SCRUM, PMP or other related certifications desirable.

Experience: 5+ years in IT project management, DevOps, release management or related areas.

Experience leading deployment and release processes in agile and/or traditional environments.

Knowledge technical tools for Cloud technologies, Release Management and Release Automation (e.g. Jira, Jenkins, AWS, GCP, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).

Experience with versioning, change control and technical documentation.

Key Skills: High capacity for planning, organization and coordination.

Cross-functional leadership and management of multiple teams.

Orientation to continuous improvement.

Effective communication with technical and non-technical areas.

Conflict resolution and risk-based decision making.
