Job summary

Fund for Public Health in NYC (FPHNYC) is seeking a Relay Trainer for its Relay program within the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Use. This full-time role supports onboarding and ongoing training for 50+ Wellness Advocates and contracted hospital staff.

Travel to hospital EDs and community outreach are included in the responsibilities. The trainer will deliver group and individual trainings, coordinate training activities, and work closely with Bureau leadership to advance overdose prevention and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6 years of relevant commensurate experience.
• Experience with curriculum development and training facilitation for adult learners, especially on substance use and equity topics.
• Experience working with and/or supervising peers.
• Knowledge of harm reduction concepts and overdose prevention.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Sensitivity to diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and use Zoom, Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding, technical assistance, and training to Relay staff.
• Develop, tailor and deliver training for Relay staff and hospital staff on identified topics.
• Coach Wellness Advocates on training preparation, planning, and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to educate Relay staff through external organizations.
• Support trainings for Bureau staff and community partners on overdose prevention and equity initiatives.
