Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an entry-level Relay Technician I to assist with installation, testing and maintenance of protective relay and control systems in substations and industrial environments. You will learn relay protection theory, testing applications and reading schematics under supervision.

Qualified candidates will have a related degree, hands-on relay experience and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Willing to overtime and travel for job assignments.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist installation, wiring and commissioning of protection and control systems.
  • Perform entry-level relay testing under supervision.
  • Develop basic relay test plans from engineering guidance.
  • Document testing activities and maintain reports.
  • Support engineers and technicians to build skills.

Skills

Relay protection knowledge
Troubleshooting controls circuits
Relay test software
Strong communication

Education

Bachelor's or AA in electrical/electronic tech
Military experience preferred
NETA certification a plus
