Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is hiring an entry-level Relay Technician I to support installation, testing, and maintenance of protective relay and control systems in substations and C&I environments. You will learn relay protection theory, perform entry-level tests, and assist in developing test plans under senior staff.

Ideal candidates have electrical tech education, willingness to travel, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

  • Formal or informal training in electrical/electronic tech is required.
  • Experience with installing, maintaining, testing or repairing protective relays is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation, wiring and commissioning of protection and control systems on relay panels.
  • Perform entry-level testing under supervision of senior technicians/engineers.
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings for protection schemes.
  • Document testing results and maintain records with accuracy.
  • Support safety procedures and proper PPE usage in energized environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop technical skills and knowledge.
