Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Relay Field Engineer III to execute commissioning and testing of protection and control schemes for electric utility substations and plants across the US. You will work with IEDs, SCADA, and media interfaces, performing end-to-end testing and risk assessments.

Responsibilities include red-lining drawings, leading testing efforts, and coordinating with project leads. The role requires field work, strong English communication, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associates/AET degree with power emphasis.
• Minimum three years' relay testing and commissioning experience in substations.
• Experience reading One Line, AC/DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents throughout the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing and IED testing with test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta).
• Identify risks in testing/commissioning and develop risk-based guidelines.
• Develop test plans and practical protection & control system applications.
• Analyze scope and drawings to create functional guidelines and risk assessments.
• Lead tasks or teams on projects with defined scopes.
• Perform weekly site safety inspections.
• Lead HP applications with Project Lead approval.
• Support company and customer policies and procedures.
