Job summary

First Western Bank & Trust in Crosslake, MN seeks a full-time Consumer Lender to solicit, evaluate, and coordinate the closing of various consumer loans and credit products in compliance with lending policies.

The role emphasizes developing new business and servicing an existing portfolio, while advising clients on loan options, terms, and payments. A bonus program and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Economics or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience in consumer lending with knowledge of in-house consumer mortgage, construction, and real estate loan procedures preferred.
• Other banking related experience helpful

Responsibilities

• Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, underwriting, approving or recommending approval, and coordinating the closing of consumer, in-house mortgage, HELOCs, and other loans.
• Develop new business and maintain a portfolio; cross-sell services to meet client needs.
• Analyze applicants’ financial condition and assess risk of financing requests.
• Obtain and assess loan applicants’ credit histories, financial statements, and other financial information.
• Ensure credit inquiries and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and collateral positioning.
• Negotiate terms and conditions, approve loans within limits, and present applications outside limits for higher authority.
• Advise clients on financial status and payment methods, including rate locks and closing dates.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans per agreement and bank policies.
• Approve loan disbursements and fund transfers within limits, and manage delinquent loan workout plans.
• Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks to locate prospects.
• Monitor loan portfolio for risk ratings and early problem identification
