Job summary

First Interstate Bank in Lander, WY seeks a Community Banker to deliver personalized client service, understand client needs, and provide suitable financial solutions. You’ll maintain client relationships while supporting the bank’s service commitments and values.

You will open accounts, discuss loans, and identify referrals to other lines of business. Strong accuracy, confidentiality, and customer-facing communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years banking or related experience.
• Must be registered Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrates accuracy, confidentiality, and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone by answering questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
• Opens and maintains a variety of products including checking/savings, IRAs, CDs, and small business cards.
• Holds financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Processes new consumer loan requests; may also handle small business loan requests.
• Identifies referral opportunities to Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management.
• Builds client relationships through outbound outreach and proactive engagement.
• Performs Teller duties including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and currency counting.
