Job summary

First Bank is seeking a Relationship Banker in California to build client relationships, identify financial needs, and recommend banking solutions. You will support branch growth through proactive service, client outreach, and collaboration with internal partners.

The role emphasizes needs-based selling, digital banking education, and cross-selling across consumer banking products in a branch setting. Prior customer service and sales experience is preferred, with NMLS registration to be obtained

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 to 12 months of customer service, sales, retail banking, financial services, or related customer-facing experience.
• Ability to build relationships, identify client needs, and recommend appropriate products or services.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, including professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to support sales goals through consultative conversations, cross-selling, lead follow-up, or referral generation.
• Ability to work accurately with client information, account documentation, and banking systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration after hire.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships with professional, responsive, and needs-based service.
• Conduct financial needs conversations to identify client goals and recommend banking solutions.
• Support new client acquisition and relationship growth through outreach, lead follow-up, and appointments.
• Deepen existing client relationships by expanding product usage and satisfaction.
• Contribute to sales goals through consistent sales and service activities.
• Identify and refer opportunities to mortgage, consumer lending, business banking, investments, and insurance.
• Participate in branch sales campaigns, calling initiatives, and client outreach activities.
• Recommend and sell consumer banking products based on client needs, including deposits and loans.
• Cross-sell banking products and educate clients on digital tools.
• Maintain knowledge of promotions and basic lending solutions.
• Deliver a positive client experience and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Protect client information and support regulatory compliance.
• Open and maintain accounts and support daily branch operations.
• Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify further opportunities.
