Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Personal Banker in Michigan to engage clients at the branch and through proactive outreach, guiding individuals and small businesses toward financial wellness solutions. The role emphasizes a client-first, sales-driven approach, strong collaboration with teammates, and the ability to educate clients on digital tools.

As part of the branch team, you will open accounts, develop relationships, partner with other specialists, and ensure compliance with policies and risk controls

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources. (required)
• Understanding of consumer credit - including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports. (required)
• Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking. (required)
• Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objection, and asking fact-finding questions with the goal of being helpful. (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence. (required)
• Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc.). (required)
• Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key (required)

Responsibilities

• Embed a strong client experience culture with every client and teammate.
• Listen for financial wellness opportunities and provide customized recommendations.
• Consistently attain activity, behavior and outcome goals.
• Open personal and small business deposit accounts and loans.
• Build partnerships with branch teammates and business partners to deepen client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security and audit procedures.
• Support branch operations including teller transactions.
• Participate in morning huddles and end of day debriefs.
• Work Saturdays as directed.
• Comply with company policies and Code of Conduct.
