Selective Insurance’s Ignite Internship Program offers current college students an 11-week, full-time paid experience at our Short Hills, NJ corporate office. You will explore the world of insurance while engaging in on-the-job assignments, team projects, and exposure to senior leadership.

Participants gain practical insights into risk management and reinsurance, building professional relationships and a path to potential full-time opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in accounting (Class of 2028 preferred).
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support internship program activities within the Enterprise Risk Management and Reinsurance team.
• Assist in reorganizing, documenting, and mapping the internal shared drive structure.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving departmental and organizational goals.
• Communicate facts, analyses, and recommendations effectively through both written and verbal communications.
• Assist with any ad-hoc projects as needed.
