Job summary

Selective Insurance in Short Hills, NJ is seeking participants for the Ignite Internship program for Summer 2027. The 11-week, full-time internship offers exposure to the ERM and Reinsurance team, with on-the-job assignments, projects, and interaction with senior leadership.

You will support risk identification, stress tests, reports, and reinsurance analysis, while developing professional relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student (Class of 2028 preferred).
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the ERM team in identifying, assessing, and reporting on emerging risks.
• Update stress tests and risk reports using internally approved methodologies and processes.
• Assist with reinsurance placement analysis as needed.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in order to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving business goals.
• Convey facts and information effectively in both verbal and written communications.
